Overview

This guide walks through Rotor’s Integrations and how to set them up, exactly in the order shown in the video. Integrations allow Rotor to connect with other platforms so your data stays synced and your workflows remain efficient. You can find all integrations by navigating to Settings → Integrations.

Integrations Page

When you open the Integrations page, you’ll immediately see the main options Rotor currently supports:

  • Housecall Pro

  • Meta

  • API Key Management

Each integration serves a different purpose, depending on how your business operates.

Housecall Pro Integration

Rotor offers a direct integration with Housecall Pro for customers on their Max plan or higher.

Requirements

  • Housecall Pro Max plan or above

  • An API key provided by Housecall Pro

An API key is what allows two software platforms to communicate securely with one another. In this case, it allows Rotor and Housecall Pro to sync data.

How It Works

  1. Obtain your API key from Housecall Pro. (Learn how to obtain this on HCP’s website at https://help.housecallpro.com/en/articles/8505035-api-overview)

  2. Paste the key into the Housecall Pro integration field in Rotor.

  3. Choose how frequently you want data to sync.

Once syncing is enabled:

  • New customers added in Housecall Pro sync into Rotor.

  • Customers added in Rotor can sync back into Housecall Pro.

  • Updates made in either system stay aligned.

Common Use Case

This integration is especially valuable for teams using Rotor’s door-to-door feature:

  • All Housecall Pro customers can be displayed on the map inside Rotor.

  • When sales reps add new customers in the field using Rotor, those customers automatically sync back into Housecall Pro.

Meta Integration (Facebook & Instagram Leads)

The Meta integration is Rotor’s most-used integration and is how Rotor ingests leads from Meta ad forms.

There is another article and video that goes into more depth for integrations with Meta

Setup Overview

  1. Click Add Connection under Meta.

  2. Connect using your Meta account credentials.

  3. Follow the authentication flow provided by Meta.

  4. Select the correct Facebook Page associated with your active ads.

  5. Confirm all required permissions and checkboxes.

Important Notes

  • Leads will only come through if the connected page has active ads.

  • You can connect multiple pages:

    • Multiple service locations (e.g., Utah and another state)

    • Separate pages for recruiting or hiring

  • After connecting, you can choose:

    • Lead sources

    • Tags applied to incoming leads
(These options are covered more deeply in a separate video.)

Once connected, Meta leads flow automatically into Rotor without any manual input.

Rotor API (Custom Integrations)

Rotor also provides its own API, allowing advanced or custom integrations with external software.

What the API Can Do

The API allows developers or technical teams to:

  • Connect custom software

  • Build branded lead forms

  • Automate workflows outside of Rotor’s native features

Example Use Case

One company wanted to keep using their custom-branded web form instead of Rotor’s built-in forms. Using the Rotor API:

  • The custom form kept their fonts, colors, and branding.

  • Submissions automatically created a lead in Rotor.

  • The team was instantly notified.

  • The lead was automatically texted upon creation.

Creating an API Key

  1. Go to the API section under Integrations.

  2. Name the API key.

  3. Choose permissions.

  4. Optionally set an expiration date (most users don’t).

  5. Click Create Key.

⚠️ Important:
You will only see the full API key once. Copy and save it securely.
If you lose it, you’ll need to generate a new one.

Zapier Integration (via API)

Currently, Rotor connects to Zapier using API keys.

How It Works

  1. Create an API key in Rotor.

  2. Get an invite to Rotor on Zapier after contacting our team (invite-only for now).

  3. In Zapier:

    • Search for Rotor.

    • Choose whether to create a Lead or Customer.

    • Paste in your Rotor API key.

    • Map all required fields.

  4. Test the automation to ensure data is flowing correctly.

Example Automation

  • Automatically send Google Ads leads into Rotor as new leads.

Zapier can feel a bit complex at first, so support is available if you need help. Rotor will also be releasing templates and a deeper walkthrough in a future video.

iMessage (Blooio iMessage Texting)

Rotor also supports iMessage texting through Blooio.

Setup Steps

  1. Sign up for Blooio (available through Rotor with a discount).

  2. Go to Engagements in Rotor.

  3. Connect Blooio using:

    • Your Blooio API key

    • Your phone number

Once connected, your team can send and receive blue iMessages directly through Rotor.

Tips for Using Integrations Effectively

  • Start with the Meta integration if you're running Facebook or Instagram ads—it's the most commonly used and easiest to set up.

  • Copy and save your API key immediately after creating it—you won't be able to view it again.

  • Connect multiple Facebook Pages if you operate in different markets or run separate recruiting campaigns.

  • Use the Housecall Pro integration to keep customer data synced automatically between both platforms.

  • Test your Zapier automations after setup to ensure data is flowing correctly into Rotor.

  • Set API key expiration dates only if required by your security policies—most users don't need them.

Congratulations! Your integrations are now set up to reduce manual data entry, keep customer and lead data in sync, and improve speed across your sales and operations teams.
