Campaigns
The Campaigns feature is your direct line to both current customers and old leads. Whether you are launching a spring cleaning promotion or re-engaging leads that have gone cold, Campaigns allow you to send high-volume SMS and email "blasts" with built-in performance tracking. This guide walks you through creating message templates, filtering your audience, and tracking your Return on Investment (ROI) directly within the platform.

Getting Started
The Campaigns tool is located on the Engagement page.
[NOTE] If you do not see the Campaigns tab, it may not be enabled on your current plan. Because high-volume messaging involves carrier costs, this feature is often an add-on. Contact Rotor support to have it enabled for your account.
The Three-Step Workflow
To run a successful campaign, you will follow this logical order:
Create a Template: Write the message you want to send.
Set Your Audience: Filter your list to find the right recipients.
Launch the Campaign: Attach the template to the audience and hit send.
Step 1: Building Message Templates
Before sending a blast, you need a reusable template.
Navigate to Engagement > Templates.
Select + New and choose SMS or Email.
Variables: Use the "Add Variable" button to personalize messages (e.g.,
Hey [first_name]).Pro-Tip: Be careful with customer-specific variables if you are sending to "Leads" who don't have full job history yet.
Simplicity is Key: While you can add attachments, we recommend keeping SMS simple. Attachments can occasionally lead to delivery issues with certain cell carriers.
Preview: Always check the blue preview bubble to see exactly how your text will appear on a mobile device.
Return to Engagement → Campaigns and create the blank campaign with the desired message template applied
Step 2: Selecting Your Audience
While you can add contacts one by one, the most efficient way to build a campaign list is through the Leads or Customers pages.
Ensure the campaign has been created
Go to the Customers (or Leads) tab.
Filter your list: Use the funnel icon to narrow down your audience. (Example: Filter by "Service Type" to find only Pressure Washing clients).
Bulk Select: Check the box at the top of the list to select all filtered results.
Add to Campaign: Click More Actions > Add to Campaign, then select your specific campaign from the dropdown.
Step 3: Launching & Testing
Once your contacts are added, they will appear in the Campaign Queue as "Pending."
The "Test First" Rule
Before blasting hundreds of people, find yourself in the recipient list and click the Send icon next to your name. Verify that the variables populated correctly and the link works.
Sending Options
Send All Pending: Sends the messages immediately.
Schedule Send: Choose a future date and time. This is ideal for building campaigns late at night but ensuring they land in customers' inboxes during business hours.
Batching: If you are sending to a very large list (e.g., 500+), the system will automatically process them in batches to maintain high deliverability rates.
Tracking Performance (ROI)
Once a campaign is live, the top of the page transforms into a real-time dashboard.
Response Rate: Tracks replies within a 30-day window.
Job Revenue: This is the most powerful metric. It shows the total dollar amount of jobs booked as a direct result of the campaign.
Health Metrics: View your Open, Click, and Bounce rates to see if your messaging needs adjustment.
Final Thoughts
Campaigns are designed to make your business more sustainable by filling the gaps in your schedule. By targeting specific customer groups—like previous gutter cleaning clients during autumn—you can generate high-value work with minimal administrative effort.
Tips for High-Converting Campaigns
Add a Call to Action: Don't just say hello. Tell the customer exactly what to do (e.g., "Reply 'YES' to book" or "Click this link to see your quote").
Target the Service: Don't blast everyone with everything. Use filters to build your audience to send campaigns to specific individuals.
Test on Yourself: Always send a test message to your own phone to check for typos or broken links.
Clean Your List: If a lead has been unresponsive, use a "Final Reach Out" campaign before archiving them.
Congratulations! You are now ready to launch your first campaign. Start small, track your revenue, and watch your schedule fill up!
