The Rotor Mobile App is your command center in the field. It is designed to give you quick, tactile access to your most important tools—whether you’re managing leads, viewing the schedule, messaging customers, or checking the leaderboard. Understanding the Bottom Navigation Bar

The Bottom Navigation Bar is the heart of the app’s navigation. It allows you to jump between different modules with a single tap. Depending on your initial setup, you will see a series of default tabs such as:

  • Leads: Manage your sales pipeline on the go.

  • Map: See your jobs and leads geographically.

  • Customers: Access your full database of paying clients.

  • Schedule: View your calendar and daily appointments.

  • Leaderboard: Track performance metrics for your team.

Note: The app allows you to display up to seven tabs on this bar. This limit ensures the interface remains clean and the buttons stay large enough for easy tapping while working. The More tab will always remain as the final anchor on the right.

How to Customize Your App Layout

One of the most powerful features of the Rotor app is the ability to rearrange these tabs based on your specific role (e.g., a technician might want "Jobs" first, while a salesperson might want "Leads" first).

To change your layout, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the "More" tab (the three-dot or hamburger icon at the bottom right).

  2. Tap the Settings icon at the very top of the screen.

  3. Inside the Settings menu, look for the Layout configuration area. Here you will see a list of all available tabs (Leads, Map, Customers, Schedule, Leaderboard, Jobs, etc.).

  4. To Enable/Disable: Use the toggle switches next to each feature name to turn them on or off.

  5. To Rearrange: Use the drag-and-drop handles (usually represented by three lines) to move a tab up or down. For example, you can move Customers to the very top of the list so it appears as the first icon on your bottom bar.

  6. To Save: Once satisfied, tap the Save button in the top right corner.

[!TIP]

Refresh Tip: If your bottom bar doesn't update immediately after hitting save, fully "kill" the app (swipe it away in your phone's multitasking view) and reopen it. This forces a full refresh of the new layout.

Light Mode vs. Dark Mode

Visibility is key when working outdoors. Inside the same Settings menu where you found the Layout options:

  • Locate the Theme or Mode section.

  • Select Light Mode (best for high-glare outdoor environments) or Dark Mode (easier on the eyes and better for battery life).

Using Messages (SMS & Calling)

When the Messages tab is enabled in your layout, it serves as your direct line to clients.

  • Two-Way SMS: If you have an SMS number connected to Rotor, you can text clients directly.

  • Calling: If calling is enabled on your plan, you will see a Call Icon within the message thread. Tapping this allows you to dial the client without manually entering their number.

  • History: You can view the entire conversation history, ensuring you have context before you arrive at a job site.

Turning On Notifications (Critical Step)

To ensure you never miss a lead or a client message, you must enable push notifications.

Within the Rotor App:

  1. Go to the More tab.

  2. Tap on Notifications.

  3. Toggle the switch to On.

If you see an error message: This usually means your phone's operating system is blocking the app. To fix this:

  1. Open your iPhone or Android Settings.

  2. Navigate to Apps (or App Management).

  3. Find and tap on Rotor.

  4. Tap Notifications and ensure the "Allow Notifications" master switch is turned On.

Accessing Help & Support

If you run into an issue or have a question while in the field, help is just a few taps away.

  1. Tap the More tab.

  2. Select Help & Support.

  3. The Chat Widget: Tap the chat bubble icon in the bottom corner of the support page. This opens a direct line to the Rotor team.

  4. Query Articles: You can type a question into the chat, and it will automatically search our help database to find an instant answer for you.

  5. Community & Posts: You can also browse or create posts to see how other users are solving similar challenges.

Homepage & Upcoming Improvements

The Homepage (the screen you see when first opening the app) is currently undergoing a significant revamp to provide better "at-a-glance" data. While it currently offers quick access, stay tuned for updates that will introduce deeper insights and more interactive widgets.

Final Thoughts

The Rotor Mobile App is built to keep your most important tools accessible while working in the field. By customizing your bottom navigation, enabling notifications, and setting up messaging properly, you can streamline communication and stay organized throughout the day.

Tips for Using the Mobile App Effectively

  • Prioritize your tabs: Put your most-used tool in the far-left position for the quickest thumb access.

  • Check Notifications: Always ensure your device-level settings allow Rotor to send alerts.

  • Use the Help Chat: Within the Help & Support section, use the chat bubble to contact our team quickly.

  • Logout/Login: If the app feels "stuck," you can log out via the More tab and log back in to clear the cache.

Congratulations! You’re now ready to configure and navigate the Rotor Mobile App with confidence. With the right layout and notifications enabled, you’ll be able to manage leads, customers, schedules, and communication efficiently—right from your phone.
