1. Understand Map Icons

On the map, you’ll see different icons that represent customers and leads:

  • Gold Stars: Active customers

  • Gray Stars: Inactive customers

  • Black Stars (Light Mode) / White Stars (Dark Mode): Leads

  • Pins: Interactions and key locations

Clusters appear when you zoom out to keep performance fast. Zooming in will reveal individual locations.

Clicking an icon lets you see details, such as the last plan a customer signed up for. This is helpful for identifying opportunities to convert one-time customers into recurring plans.

2. Permissions and Visibility

Rotor ensures the right people see the right information:

  • Customers: Team members can see all customer locations, but full details only for customers they’re assigned to or signed up themselves.

  • Leads: Team members only see their own leads. Admins have full visibility.

  • Pins: Team members only see their own pins. Admins have full visibility.

3. Assign Territories and Regions

You can assign specific areas to team members:

  1. Click the plus button in the bottom-right corner and select the Territory icon.

  2. Draw the area on the map. To close the shape, click back on the first point.

  3. Confirm the territory and assign it to a team member.

  4. Add a description to help your team understand the area.

4. Use Pins for Door Interactions

Pins represent actual door interactions. These are fully customizable at the company level:

  • Change titles, colors, and order of pins based on what matters most to your team.

  • Manage all pin customization directly in the map settings on desktop only (Settings → Map).

5. Add New Customers or Leads

When adding a new customer or lead:

  • The address is automatically pulled in based on your selection.

  • This saves time and reduces errors when mapping locations.

6. Mobile and Desktop

Everything available on the desktop version of Maps is also available on mobile, so your team can access customer and lead locations in the field.

Tips for Using Maps Effectively

  • Satellite mode is available on both the mobile app and desktop.

  • Use clusters to quickly identify high-density areas.

  • Follow up with inactive and One-Time customers to convert them into recurring plans.

  • Assign territories to ensure fair distribution of leads.

  • Customize pins to make key information visible at a glance.

  • Add pins for door hangers and yard signs.

Congratulations! Your team is now ready to leverage Rotor’s Maps feature to plan routes, manage territories, and visualize customers and leads efficiently.
